Valley Park School District Sets 2012-2013 School Calendar
At their January meeting, the Valley Park School District Board of Education approved to begin classes in the 2012-2013 school year on Tuesday, August 14, 2012. The last scheduled day of school will be Wednesday, May 29, 2013 with an early dismissal for all students.
The 2012-2013 schedule provides for 175 attendance days for all students. The first semester will end on Friday, December 21. Winter Break is from
December 24 to January 1. The second semester will begin on Thursday,
January 3. Spring Break will take place the week of March 18.
Students and staff will observe the traditional holidays of Labor Day (September 3), Thanksgiving (November 21-23), Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 21), Presidents Day (February 18) and Memorial Day (May 27).
Currently, Summer School 2012 will be held June 4 – June 29. Summer School 2013 is scheduled for June 3 – June 28.
If school is not canceled due to inclement weather or other emergencies, the six (6) days set aside for school cancellations will shorten the school calendar. Parents will receive notice(s) of any change(s) in the District calendar that affect students’ attendance days.
