Banner Year for Valley Park Middle School
Recently, Valley Park Middle School was recognized as one of four Character Fitness Model Schools by CHARACTERplus, a local educational agency. Holding the banner are, from left, Angie Buckman, Valley Park Middle and High School health teacher; Suzy Ward (center), CHARACTERplus member district facilitator; and St. Louis Rams' Football Team mascot, Rampage. The St. Louis Rams partnered with CHARACTERplus in recognizing schools that exemplify Character Fitness. Schools are honored for integrating personal fitness, nutrition, goal-setting and service throughout their culture. Valley Park Middle School received honors as the initial Model School for the program. The three schools chosen as Model Schools for 2011 are Babler Elementary (Rockwood), Kehrs Mill Elementary (Rockwood) and Renfro Elementary (Collinsville).
