ValleyPalooza Awards Fall Scholarships

“Soaring with Service” Award Winners

Recently ValleyPalooza announced fall scholarships for two Valley Park High School juniors. Two Valley Park High School juniors will explore new educational opportunities outside the classroom thanks to the ValleyPalooza Organization, Inc.® Sheri O’Brien and Jenn Vanelli, executive directors of ValleyPalooza, sponsor the “Soaring with Service” Awards program. Hannah Beckett, 16, will hone her writing skills at the Young Writers Workshop held at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Il. Sixteen-year-old Zohaib Zahir is attending Mini-Medical School II at Washington University, St. Louis.


The “Soaring with Service” Award, a charitable scholarship fund, was established through ValleyPalooza. Valley Park School District Liaison and Scholarship Committee Director Jaime Rhoades spearheaded the development of the scholarship. In spring and fall, full or partial scholarships are available to Valley Park School District students to attend tuition-based extra-curricular programs in grades K-12. The scholarships are designed to reward students who are actively involved in service learning and community service for area residents. Five students received awards in the spring.
