First-place winner, Tory Montero (left) and First Runner-up Eli Veltrop (right) celebrated their win after a record 12 rounds of competition. Both are fourth-graders. Montero's championship word was "onslaught." The spelling bee was open to all fourth and fifth-grade students. Grittini sponsored the competition.
