What is a B.E.E. Binder?

It is a 3-ring binder notebook, put together by the teacher, that houses EVERYTHING the students and parents need to keep up with what is going on at school.  No more wrinkled papers in the bottom of book bags.  No more lost notes, newsletters or calendars.  No more searching the house to find your planner.  Everything is in one notebook!  So if you want to know the "buzz" in Mrs. Fenwick's 3rd Grade Class, check out your child's B.E.E. Binder.

Why is it important to have?

This notebook helps students to establish good organizational skills during this transitional year- skills that can carry on throughout their time in school.  It also helps promote effective communication between home and school.

What should I do with my B.E.E. Binder?

Do take care of your B.E.E. Binder; it will be used all year!  Do check every section every evening, and clean out anything that is old.  Do take your B.E.E. Binder home everyday and bring it back each morning.  Do keep your B.E.E. Binder clean.   Do show your B.E.E. Binder to your parents everyday - they will be so proud of your new responsibility!

What should I NOT do with my B.E.E. Binder?

Don't make any marks or drawings in or on your B.E.E. Binder.  Don't leave your B.E.E. Binder at home, in the car or bus, or at daycare.  Don't let anyone borrow your B.E.E. Binder or tear pages out of your B.E.E. Binder.  Don't put any papers in your B.E.E. Binder that do not belong.  Don't eat or drink in front of your B.E.E. Binder!

What exactly is in the B.E.E. Binder?

The B.E.E. Binder contains the following sections:  pencil/money pouch, planner, To Do folder, Notes (from school and from home), homework, reading log, Spelling list/math facts, book project, Friday folder, calendar, lunch menu, and other class information (class packet, schedule, specials, cursive letters, and a class list).

pencil/
money pouch

This is where students keep extra pencils, lunch money, book order money, fundraising money, field trip money, or school store money.

planner

The planner is kept in the binder to keep it from getting tattered and torn.  This should be kept near the front.  Students will write their homework in the planner.  I will either give a stamp for a good work and behavior day or write a note of concern.  I ask that you sign the planner each night.

Homework/
