Post-Secondary Preparatory Testing

  • There are three main college preparatory tests - the ACT (American College Test), SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), and the PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test). Students at VPHS have the option to take two of these tests at school, the PSAT and the ACT.

VPHS also offers the ACT WorkKeys during spring testing for Juniors. The WorkKeys is a system of assessments that measure essential workplace skills. Completing these assessments may earn students a National Career Readiness Certificate, which can be presented to potential employers to show job fit.

Finally, VPHS also offers the PiCAT (Pending Internet Computerized Adaptive Test), an online version of the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery). The PiCAT is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military.
