National Honor Society

  • National Honor Society (NHS) is a group of students chosen for excellence in service, scholarship, leadership and character. To become a member, the student must earn a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 and maintain a 3.5 GPA. NHS members will not be recognized at the end of year awards if they are on "probationary" status. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month.

Dues are $6.00 per year, paid in November for the entire year. Activities include charity work, social events, collecting for food drives, and helping the administration with school activities such as graduation and honored events. Eligible students are notified during the second semester of their sophomore and/or junior year. Members must continue to meet the standards under which they are inducted, or they will be removed from the NHS.
