    The Saint Louis County Department of Public Health Environmental Services Waste Management Program awarded Valley Park Middle School the Resourceful Schools Project (RSP) Water Bottle Filling Station and Waste Reduction Grant for 2017 -2018 School-Year.

  • VPMS Book Battle Team Competes in the Area-Wide Book Battle Competition

    The Valley Park Middle School Book Battle Team competed in the Area-Wide Book Battle competition on Tuesday, May 3rd. This annual event is a trivia-style tournament where students read from an official list of 20 books and become experts on each title. Out of 36 schools participating, VPMS finished 6th place with 101 points. The team missed only four questions out of 50 during the 10 general rounds.

  • VPMS named National School of Character

    Tuesday, May 10, 2016, Charaacter.org named Valley Park Middle School a 2016 National Schools of Character for the second time. The school went through an in-depth and rigorous evaluation process after being named a State School of Character in January. The school was found to be an exemplary model of character development. It is one of just 68 schools recognized nationally.

  • VPMS receives Promising Practice award for video project

    Character.org awarded Valley Park Middle School the Promising Practices Award for their Touchstone Video Project. The student-led video production project demonstrates the importance of Hawk PRIDE and how it is integrated throughout the school community.

  • Fuel Up to Play 60 Rewards Summit

    On April 5, 2016, students from Valley Park Middle School and Valley Park Elementary School attended the Midwest Dairy Council and NFL Fuel Up to Play 60 Rewards Summit. Students participated in fun activities that kept them active and helped them learn more about the benefits of physical activity and healthy eating.

  • EdPlus Presents VPMS with State School of Character Banner

    Suzy Ward, Missouri School of Character Coordinator with Education Plus, visited Valley Park Middle School on March 29 to present the State School of Character banner to the school. Hawk Pals revealed the banner in a morning assembly along with the Character Education teacher committee. Ward spoke to the students during the assembly about why the school was chosen. “We love what you do every single day,” she said of the work the school has done to receive the honor. “There are over 300,000 schools in the country and you are one of just 67 that received this honor. We know that every day you are doing the right thing.” VPMS is up for consideration for Character.org's national designation, National School of Character. 2016 National Schools of Character will be announced in mid-May 2016.

  • VPMS Battle 4 Life Campaign Raises Funds, Awareness for Heart Health

    Valley Park Middle School held the Battle 4 Life Campaign in March, an annual American Heart Association fundraiser to help fight against heart disease and stroke. Students began raising funds in February for National Heart Month.

    At the January 27 meeting, the Valley Park Board of Education approved the hiring of a new Middle School principal, Dr. Kelly Muzzey.

  • Valley Park Middle School Named 2016 Missouri School of Character

    This week, Valley Park Middle School was named a 2016 Missouri School of Character by Character.org. VPMS is one of 15 Missouri and 66 national schools named. It is the second time the school received the honor.
