Each month, we will recognize two outstanding students for their athletic performances in the preceding month. Recommended by their coaches, these student-athletes have excelled representing our school and our community and we are extremely excited to share their accomplishments with you.
Jacob Dibble – Hawk Power
Having been with us from the first day of our summer training sessions through the transition to 6:15 am workouts three days a week during the school year, Jacob never fails to work hard, lead by example, and encourage fellow Hawk Power participants. While he has experienced amazing growth in his own lifts and will continue to do so, what really sets Jacob apart is his commitment to the other students in our program. Jacob never misses a chance to spot someone, give constructive feedback, or provide an encouraging word to any Hawk Power student including his sister, who is another dedicated Hawk Power participant. Our group is better because of his participation and leadership. Congratulations Jacob on being named an October Athlete of the Month.
Mason Sears – Cross Country
Mason has decreased his time from his first race back in September by 26 seconds. Even more than being a hardworking athlete who has improved over the month, Mason embodies what it means to be a Hawk – he sees the potential in his teammates and says what needs to be said in order to push them to be better. He tries to include everyone on the team so that we are not just an individual group of runners trying to decrease our minute/mile, but a team of runners that pushes and encourages each other to be the best that they can be. Congratulations Mason on being named an October Athlete of the Month.
